Interested in getting some exercise in the warm sunshine? Helping foster a sense of civic pride?
We invite you to join us for an event to draw attention to issues faced by Latino immigrants in the current political climate.
The July 22 edition of Sunday Parkways is a little different!
In partnership with Sunday Parkways, we invite you to talk with Latinos who have shared their incredible journey to be here. They are DREAMers, asylees and immigrants. To hear their stories is to understand the underlying emotions of this community.
Hear their voices, listen to their stories and talk to them. This is an opportunity to meet and greet us. Bring your family. We’d love to see you there!
The event will take place at the Portland State campus on SW Harrison and SW Park in the South Park blocks. The Sunday Parkways route takes you through the heart of beautiful, vibrant Downtown Portland. The Immigrant Story is proud to be a platform for all underrepresented immigrant voices in our community. Our hope is that this project will provide an opportunity for visitors to explore the emotions of this particular community, which continues to bear the brunt of hate speech in the United States.
The Immigrant Story believes that by sharing our stories, we can enhance empathy and thereby contribute to the creation of a shared community and a greater humanity.
When you help us share these powerful stories, you help change the narrative in today’s America.
