“Are you a green card holder of five years (three if married to a US citizen) who would like to receive free legal help on your Citizenship application? If you are interested in citizenship, please call us for more information to determine your eligibility and to schedule an appointment on IRCO’s Citizenship Day on Saturday, September 22nd from 9-3 pm. 

Requirements for Citizenship:
- 18 years or older
- Legal permanent residency (LPR) status for 5 years or 3 years if married to US citizen
- Basic English speaking, reading, and writing
- Continuous and physical presence in the US
- Good moral character

Benefits of Citizenship:
- Protection from deportation
- Voting in local, state, and federal elections
- Faster family reunification
- Freedom to travel (with a US passport)
- Automatic citizenship for children who are under 18 years old when one parent naturalizes
- Ability to apply for government jobs and run for certain elected offices
