Slavic Family Media Center is so honored to have been part of the 11th Annual Slavic Festival that was organized by Slavic Community Center of NW and co-hosted by Portland Parks and Recreations with support from EPAP, RACC and all of the amazing sponsors and vendors. It took hundreds of work hours to plan and execute one of the best Slavic Festivals. The event is all about building a healthy community and bringing people closer to each other. We think that is exactly what the festival did. It brought together thousands of people from all over Oregon, Washington, and even other countries, people that came to experience the diversity of East Portland. There were so many different nationalities on the stage and off; Ukrainians, Russians, Moldavians, Georgians, Armenians, Uzbek, Tajik, Chinese, Americans and more. All working together, showing their culture, talents, and uniqueness. There were multiple master classes, PBOT Vision Zero walks, and a fashion show that was sponsored by PDX Smile Design. Slavic Community Center of NW gave away over 1,000 pieces of school supplies to kids. We love Portland and look forward to continuing working towards building more bridges instead of fences. Thank you for being part of the community and for your support.
